I have just added four new masks to my shop.
These are vibrant coloured batik fabrics I picked up in Africa. The style is inverted box pleat, a two layer mask with a filter pocket built in. These sell at £5.00.
The pleats on the mask open when worn to show more of the pattern. Below are some examples.

I was hoping in this all singing, all dancing, linked up world that I would somehow be able to link up my WordPress blog with my Instagram account, but unfortunately not to be 😦 At least not as yet.
So for the meantime you can find my latest pictures on instagram
and also on my facebook page

Crochet is a wonderful pliable way to work with yarn.
I will be in Alyth Town Hall over the weekend demonstrating some tips for getting started.
Here is a wee example. I wasn’t terribly impressed with this motif and initially laid it aside. I then decided to add some surface crochet and changed the look entirely!
You can download the full Alyth Creates guide here :-
Check my workshop out at the Aberdeen Yarnfest on Sunday 13th May. It runs from 10.00 am to 1.00pm at the Doubletree Aberdeen Treetops hotel. I made the A5 journal cover below using Sublime silk yarn in two shades, and a maroon synthetic silk background.
“Therapeutic crochet – Exploring Tunisian and Broomstick techniques.”
How to make Broomstick lace.
How to work 4 basic Tunisian stitches.
Participants will complete a small project incorporating these steps during the workshop.
But it’s warm inside. Getting ready for next classes and keeping yarns in order!

Come along to the Mavericks Art Group event on 2nd and 3rd December. My artwork will be in there too.
Hosted by Amy Mason, at her beautiful studio, Bluebird Arts, it is an opportunity to see and buy work by many talented artists and crafters, in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
I am looking forward to this evening! This is the first session of crochet classes I will be delivering over the next 12 weeks at Invergowrie, in Church of Scotland Hall at 7.00pm.

My most recent artwork – for sale at Hallgreen Castle.
Princess of the Night
She used to be an iron horse twenty years ago
Used to bring the mail to me through the ice and snow
I sat alone and watched her steaming through the night
Ninety tons of thunder riding up the sky
She was the Princess of the Night
We saw the writing on the wall
She was the Princess of the Night
I’d take a ride across the sky, sky, sky, sky
Inspired by lyrics from Saxon
It’s getting nearer every day! As a member of the Mavericks Art Group I will be at Hallgreen Castle on Saturday, 9th, Saturday 16th, and Sunday 17th, exhibiting my work and giving demonstrations of crochet.
There is also a huge amount of delightful work by other artists and more demonstrations.
For full details see Mavericks Art@MavericksArtGroup.
There has been a good uptake for my crochet class, so it will run from next week.
Still a couple of places left, in fact most classes still have one or two spaces.
If interested in any of them please contact Liz Allardice direct on 01382 435827, or email email@example.com
I will be tutoring a beginner’s workshop at the Perth Festival of Yarn on Saturday 9 September. Tickets for the event are £10 and go on sale on 15 July. I am really looking forward to this! 🙂
