TUNISIAN CROCHET WORKSHOPS

There has recently been a resurgence in the popularity of Tunisian Crochet, otherwise known as Afghan Crochet or Tricot. It is part knit, part crochet, and is endlessly versatile from close textured even stitches to a multitude of lacy variations. In my workshop you will learn 3 basic stitches and make a small item. No previous knowledge of crochet is necessary . A hook and yarn, and embellisments are included.

Please bring a packed lunch with you.
Teas, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

The workshops costs £60.00 and a non-returnable deposit of £30 is needed to confirm your place. Please message me for details.

BEGINNNER’S WORKSHOP

Back by popular request this is a Beginners Workshop in Forfar!

Whether you have done a bit of crochet before, or are a complete beginner, you will be very welcome. I will teach you three basic stitches and what you need to know to read patterns. I will also teach you what the commonest mistakes are and how to avoid them!
A hook and yarn included.

Please bring a packed lunch with you.

Demystifying and learning specialist forms of crochet. Learn the basics of Tunisian, broomstick and hairpin crochet over 10 weeks.

What are Broomstick, Hairpin, Tricot/ Afghan/ Tunisian crochet? Three workshops giving a short introductions to these forms which are easy to learn, whether you are a complete beginner to crochet or already know how to.  Left-handers welcome.  Enrolment evening 19 April, 6-7.30 pm.

WORKSHOPS! Ever wanted to crochet and no idea how to start? Or do you know the basics and want to learn different techniques..? Contemporary crochet artist and tutor, Ellie Fiddes is running a series of workshops through Fri, Sat & Sun 26-28 May at the Alyth Festival. Each day there is a beginners workshop 10am – 2pm, advanced in the afternoon 2pm – 4pm. She caters for left-handers. £10 per class.

BEGINNERS each day 10.00 am
Fri 2.00 pm – BROOMSTICK CROCHET Worked on a broomstick! This simple method creates loose fabric which has many uses. Why not start with a simple scarf?
Sat 2.00pm – HAIRPIN CROCHET Traditionally made on a shell hairpin this work grows quickly.
Sunday pm – AFGHAN CROCHET Working on an elongated hook this work sits somewhere between knitting and crochet. Quick and easy to learn, produces fabric from firm to lacy.
